What you will need:

Photograph your work. I’ve had the best luck photographing my art work in outside in the daylight. Then go to your favorite photo editing program. While I frequently work in Photoshop, I like http://picasa.google.com I use the autofix and crop option. Best of all it’s free.
Once you have your image cropped, print it out on card stock. I purchase bristol board at my local office supply store. Picasa has a print option called wallet size that prints 6 images to a page. I’ve found that size perfect for card making.
Trim you image. I like to use an Exacto blade and a ruler for a nice crisp edge but you can use scissors if you don’t own a craft knife.
The greeting cardstock I purchase comes with matching envelopes and have to be folded. To get a nice sharp fold, use a bone folder.
Attach your photo corners to your image.
The corners I use require a dab of water. Then position your image on the center of the card.
I’ve found that 5 cards make a nice set. You can give a set of the same image or 5 different images. For a really professional look, slip your cards into a cellophane bag and tie with a bow.

Nicely done. I took a few classes in card making, and I love the embossing method. Like everything else, you can spend a fortune making your own cards, but what matters most is creating something special. I have vowed never to purchase a store-bought card again. Not when I have the supplies to make my own. Voted up, AWESOME, interesting and useful.
Good instructions, very detailed and professional work. Nicely written hub on this craft of card making. Personalized greeting cards that you can make yourself are much appreciated by all who receive them.
Great hub and nice pictures detailing the steps. I've done greeting cards with art and pictures before, but never with the corner holders. Those look like they give the card a more professional and finished look. I'll have to get some and give it a try.
