How to make a magnetic bookmark
I love projects that use up all those scrapes that come from sewing. Here is one that only takes two strips of fabric!
Materials
- 2 Pieces of Fabric 2 ½ x 10
- Thread
- Scissors
- Sewing Machine
- 2 Magnets
- Crochet Hook (Optional)
- Iron
With right sides together sew fabric together using a 1/4” seam allowance and leaving a 2” un-sewn hole on the side.
Turn the fabric right side out and press. I like to use a crochet hook to help me with the corners. Be sure to turn in you un-sewn seam allowance opening when you press.
Insert magnets.
Sew near the edges.
Position the magnets so they fit neatly in the ends of your bookmark and be sure the magnets are facing the right was so they will be magnetic to each other. Sew across to prevent them from slipping.
